About our school

Putland Education and Training Unit (ETU) is located at Werrington in Western Sydney close to Penrith. The school stands on Darug land and we acknowledge that this land is and always will be Aboriginal land.

We are a school for specific purposes (SSP) which provides educational opportunities for students from across NSW. We subscribe to the notion that every teachable moment well spent has the potential to make a difference and our motto is “A Chance to Learn”

Our partner agency is the centre of our school community and determines our student cohort. We provide a maximum 90 student places at any one time in 17 classes. Our students are male and usually over the age of 15. Enrolment lengths are variable resulting in a fluctuating student turnover. We offer students opportunities to develop and broaden basic skills, engage in formal accredited education and pursue vocational interests. We have a strong student welfare focus and work with our school community to provide an integrated learning experience.
